The history of Socilet's zero advance payment model
Socilet was founded in 2022 in Bhopal, India by Dheeraj Tagde. From the very first project we removed the advance payment — clients see the finished work running live, approve it, and only then pay. This page documents where that model came from, how it evolved year by year, and how it works today.
What problem the model had to solve
Clients could not judge quality before paying
Portfolios can be borrowed. Screenshots can be faked. The only honest proof is the client's own project, built and running, before money changes hands.
Cross-border work had no trust bridge
A business in the USA or UK hiring a developer in India has no easy recourse if the work never arrives. Removing the advance removes their entire downside.
The first version of the business model (2022)
The original rules were written for a single client and never changed much afterwards:
- No deposit, no token amount, no milestone advance.
- A live preview URL instead of static mockups, so the client sees the real product.
- Unlimited revision rounds inside the agreed scope before invoicing.
- Payment requested only after written client approval.
- Client owns the code and content once payment clears.

Socilet founded in Bhopal, India
Dheeraj Tagde started Socilet as a one-person web development studio. Almost every enquiry stalled at the same point: small business owners had already been burned by agencies that took a 50% deposit and delivered nothing. The first fix was simple — stop asking for the deposit.

First version of the model: build first, invoice later
The earliest version was informal. We built a complete, working first version of the site, shared a live preview link, and only raised an invoice once the client confirmed they were happy. No contracts full of clauses, no advance, no milestone deposits.

The model gets a name and a process
Repeat demand turned the experiment into the standard way we work. We formalised four stages — requirements, build, review, pay — and applied it to every service, not just websites. 100+ projects were delivered on this basis.
- 2024
Extended to apps, SEO and marketing — and to global clients
Zero advance payment was extended beyond websites to mobile apps, AI solutions, SEO and digital marketing, and offered to clients in the USA, Canada, UK and Australia, where distance makes trust the biggest barrier of all.

Standardised delivery and post-launch support
Review rounds, handover and post-launch support windows became part of the same no-advance promise: you approve the delivered work before any payment is due.

Every service on socilet.com runs on zero advance payment. You describe the requirement, we build it, you review it live, and you pay only after you approve. Registered in India under GSTIN 23AZIPT3197N1ZM.
